“Little Monster”

Sadie’s back to her routine, what’s left to take?
Broken records, empty books she never read
And she would burn away everything
And sleep for, like, a thousand years
Back to where the ravens fly
And metaphors still taste like lies.

So, why d’you live like anyone but you?
And where would you go now
That there’s nothing left to save?
Stay here tonight
And die now that there’s nothing left inside.
Forget what we’re not, this happiness is cruel,
These little monsters come for you.

Sadie’s back to seventeen, well, come what may.
Broken shoes and empty smiles upon her face
And she would throw away everything
To leave a town of lies and regrets.
Bury her where eagles cry
And hurricanes are lullabies.

So why d’you live like anyone but you?
And where would you go now
That there’s nothing left to save?
Stay here tonight
And die now that there’s nothing left inside.
Forget what we’re not, this happiness is cruel,
These little monsters come for you.

Why d’you live like anyone but you?
And where would you go now
That there’s nothing left to save?
Stay here tonight
And die now that there’s nothing left inside.
Forget what we’re not, this happiness is cruel,
These little monsters claim their
Fallen princess, and can you feel their fangs?
And who’s gonna hear you?
The city’s fast asleep.
Can you taste the fear?
Smile, dear, smile, smile louder than our love.
Forget all the blindfolds,
We’ll go down in history
These little monsters come from me.
