“Home”

Well, now, I leave this goddamn town
And all the sadness that it bled
And the face in the bathroom mirror
Is a proper symbol of this wreck
So as the hay bale rolls away
Like in the cheapest horror scene
I wear the silhouette chalked on the sidewalk,
Close my eyes and count to three
But these ghosts don’t leave

And hence I sway,
I creep through my fears,
I won’t slip back
To the same mistakes.
I’m way too lost today
And I’m waiting
For the last train back home.

Right now I linger in my dreams
‘Cause you’ve just fucked up my whole life.
I’m sick and tired of singing
‘Cause you’re in every fucking line.
So as the sharks suit up to feast
With what’s left of my treasure chest
I kiss my wrist, regret the seasons
I’ve been laying in my bed
Nose over tail.

And now I sway,
I creep through my fears,
I won’t slip back
To the same mistakes.
I’m way too lost today
And I’m waiting
For the last train back home.
